Kyriaki Griva, aged 28, was killed outside a police station in Agioi Anargyroi on 1 April 2024, after going there to report abusive behaviour.
The reported judgment
Kathimerini reported on 29 July 2025 that a Greek court convicted her former partner of premeditated murder and imposed life imprisonment, with additional penalties. The article describes the court’s rejection of his diminished-responsibility argument. This is a dated account of that trial, not a claim that all possible appeals or related proceedings have ended.
Protection in practice
The circumstances brought public scrutiny to the response people receive when they seek help. The perpetrator’s criminal responsibility and questions about institutional failures require separate evidence. This page does not assign legal liability to individual officers without a verified finding.
