Who is behind GYNĒMA?

GYNĒMA is an independent student initiative created and run by Sofia and Dimitra in Greece. GYNĒMA, Gynema, gynēma.com and the Instagram account @gynema identify this initiative. We are not presenting the initiative as a registered charity, law firm, healthcare service or public authority.

The founders manage this website and its editorial decisions. The name and original visual identity are used to identify GYNĒMA. This notice does not assert that the name is a registered trade mark or that a registration or ownership dispute has been legally resolved. A domain registration and a trade mark registration are different things.

Original work, quotations and images

Original texts and artwork remain subject to the rights of their respective creators. The original GYNĒMA illustration was supplied by Sofia. Please ask before reproducing the logo or original material in a way that suggests an affiliation or endorsement. Nothing here restricts uses permitted by applicable law.

Third-party photographs, artworks, articles and quotations remain the property of their respective rights holders. Image credits identify the source, creator and reuse terms where supplied. Public-domain and Creative Commons materials have their own conditions; a GYNĒMA credit does not replace them. Portraits may be resized or cropped for display. Inclusion does not imply the subject or photographer endorses GYNĒMA.

Short quotations are presented for discussion, education and historical context, with attribution and a source. Translations and reported speech are identified where relevant. Links direct readers to original publications; we do not claim ownership of those publications or offer a licence to republish them.

Contributors retain rights in their own stories and comments. By submitting with consent, you give GYNĒMA permission to store, review and display that contribution on this website, including its chosen display name, if approved. This is non-exclusive and does not transfer ownership. It does not authorise posting your contribution to Instagram. A separate request would be needed for another use.

Your data and choices

The GYNĒMA team, Sofia and Dimitra, determines how submissions are reviewed and published. For privacy questions or requests, contact gynemaorg@gmail.com. Please send only enough information to locate the relevant record; do not email identity documents or sensitive evidence unless a specific, necessary request has been explained.

Submission and publication are voluntary and based on the consent you give in the form. Security processing supports our legitimate interest in protecting this service. Consent can be withdrawn for future processing without changing the lawfulness of processing before withdrawal. We may need to retain limited information where required by law or necessary for a legal claim.

Please avoid submitting sensitive personal information about yourself or anyone else, including identifiable health, sexual-life or abuse details. Share experiences without names, precise locations or identifying combinations of facts. A story can be anonymous to readers without being technically anonymous to infrastructure providers. We do not promise that published text cannot be copied or indexed.

Editors can access submissions for moderation. Service providers involved in hosting, security, fonts and email may process technical information such as connection details. Google Fonts receives a connection request when pages load. Links to other websites and Instagram are governed by those services’ own privacy practices. Infrastructure processing may involve countries outside Greece or the EEA; this page is not a claim that all data remain in Greece.

We add no advertising or analytics cookies and do not sell submission data. Comments and stories are published only after human review. We do not use submitted material to make solely automated decisions with legal or similarly significant effects on you.

Exercise your rights

Depending on the applicable conditions, you may request access, correction, deletion, restriction, portability or object to processing. Contact us with the page URL, title or comment reference. We aim to respond within one month; if a lawful extension is needed, we will explain it. Anonymous submissions can be difficult to identify, so we may ask for limited clarification. Withdrawal cannot necessarily remove copies made independently by other people.

You may also complain to the Hellenic Data Protection Authority. Read its explanation of individual rights. These rights are subject to the conditions and exceptions in the law.

A careful space for conversation

Comments are available on selected public learning and case pages. Personal story submissions remain separately moderated; their authors are not required to accept public comments on their experiences. A display name is optional and does not verify anyone’s identity.

Do not post threats, hate, targeted harassment, private contact details, identifying allegations about private people, graphic descriptions or material you have no right to share. Do not impersonate another person or organisation. Editors may decline, unpublish or delete contributions that violate these rules. Approval does not mean the team endorses every view expressed.

Children and young people should avoid sharing identifying or sensitive experiences publicly. If you are unsure whether you can consent to publication, seek guidance from a trusted adult or a specialist support service before submitting. This website is not designed to receive confidential reports or evidence.

Corrections, removal and rights concerns

Write to gynemaorg@gmail.com with the page URL, the material concerned, the reason for your request and any source that helps us assess it. For a comment, include its submission reference if available. You do not need to publish a comment to make a complaint. The team reviews requests; we cannot promise continuous monitoring or an immediate response.

If you believe an image, quotation or other material infringes your rights, identify the work, your connection to it and the disputed use. We can review attribution, correct the record or remove material as appropriate. Please do not send unnecessary private documents.

Information, not professional advice

GYNĒMA publishes educational summaries and links. Content can contain errors or become outdated. Legal outcomes depend on the jurisdiction, date and facts; reporting on an allegation is not a finding of guilt. Nothing on this website replaces qualified legal, medical or psychological advice, and no professional relationship is created by reading or commenting. This notice does not exclude rights or liability that cannot lawfully be excluded.

For urgent assistance, use the support directory or local emergency services. For our existing submission practices and editorial scope, see Privacy & community and the editorial disclaimer.
