From gynē (γυνή), the Ancient Greek word for woman, and cinema, the place where stories unfold.
GYNĒMA, also written Gynema and found on Instagram as @gynema, was created by Sofia and Dimitra, two girls still at school. It is an independent, student-led initiative for women’s voices, experiences and rights. We want to build a community that raises awareness, opens conversations and makes room for women to speak in their own words.
We bring together personal stories and links to reporting, research and ideas. Not every experience needs a lesson or a neat ending. Sometimes, being heard is the beginning.

We are learning, listening and building this space together. We share women’s stories, motivation and useful information; we do not offer professional counselling. The organisations in our support directory are independent services, not our partners.
